Gorgeous mid-century modern (MCM) five section oak veneer lighted display
cabinet wall unit with smoked glass doors, brass pulls, ten glass shelves with
plate grooves, two wooden shelves, and brass plate hinge covers by Hooker.
Beautiful vintage condition. We have touched up a few small scratches and nicks
in the finish and there is some sun fading on both sides of one unit but
nothing that detracts from its overall beauty. Also, one hinge covers have been
replaced with a plastic one and painted brass to match. Please see photos.
Circa 1960-1970’s.
You know that feeling when you see something, and you MUST have it?? Well,
that’s exactly what happened when we laid eyes on this striking FIVE PIECE
display cabinet! We had to have it to offer to you. It’s by Hooker Furniture,
has a Scandinavian Modern vibe, and comes with five separate sections with
different functions, and when placed side by side in whichever collaboration
you choose, will make a bold and beautiful statement in your home. It is
comprised of stunning oak veneer and smoked glass doors that open with the
assistance of adjustable hinges with those oh-so-striking and modern round
brass plated hinge covers. Two of the units are identical with two large smoked
glass doors that open to reveal two clear glass shelves that have plate grooves
cut into the glass so if you have fine china or collector plates to display,
you won’t need those pesky plate holders! Underneath the shelves, solid brass
pulls open three spacious drawers where you can store utensils, books, linens,
or whatever you choose to put inside. One of these two units must have been in
a sunny spot in its prior home because there is some sun fading on both sides,
we think it adds to its character and does not detract from its overall
handsome condition…plus you can configure the units in many ways and may not
even notice it. There are two other similar units with large smoked glass doors
that open to reveal two clear glass shelves, also with plate grooves but the
lower sections are different as one has oak veneer doors with brass pulls that
open to a wooden shelf and the other has smoked glass doors that open to a
clear glass shelf. One unit has two shorter smoked glass doors on the top
portion with one clear shelf inside. Below, oak veneer doors with brass pulls
open to a wooden shelf inside and in the center of this unit, there is a
drop-down door with lights inside and when opened can be used as a desktop or
bar! This massive and marvelous display cabinet could also be used as a
bookcase or liquor cabinet. The possibilities are endless! It is awesome in
every way.
