with a central Makara, mythical aquatic monster connected to the fertility of
the water and source of life, and two lions. Beautiful clean shape that
unscrews at one end to contain protective objects and "mantras". Perfect
patina, bold piece to wear and collect, rare to find. Karnataka, South India,
1900 approx.
