Presenting a fine example of New Orleans furniture making at its best.
Attributed to the fine workshop of Prudent Mallard, New Orleans, circa mid
Nineteenth Century.
Created using the finest Rosewood the base has attractive carvings, a
functional drawer featuring the renown "mallard carved EGG" and fitted
interior, cabriole legs, and a decorative stretcher centered by a well-executed
cartouche. The mirrored top is supported by two carved support arms
featuring a carved Dolphin on each arm. The original, old world, marble top
has some aged stains and the original mirror glass has a fewimperfections.
