Up for consideration is a fine old Free standing primitive store display
bookcase or postal shelving unit. It measures about 60" inches in length by
about 52 inches in height by about 10 inches deep at the feet. It is marked
Peaches on the back and I was told that it was used as a portable stand to show
off peaches and tomatoes in quart size at an old country store. There is also
some writing with numbers on the top so maybe a postal organizer unit for rural
country mail sorting at one time also I don't know for sure or just a good
country library shelf. Nonetheless it was built to last...so You decide on it's
past or future. Not trying to be cynical about anything I am just trying to be
honest...things get reused in various scenarios ...and of course some vendors
really take advantage of this and invent some eloborate yet charming provenance
that pulls on our heart strings so that one can fork over their money and feel
wonderful about it. I don't think that is fair. The previous elderly lady had
for decades and used as a bookcase...anddisplay unit for showing off her
antique collection of things. It has wonderful old wear and orange paint...so
if you are looking to show off some things and add a little color here you go.
It is solid with great feet and it is free standing. The slots measure 15
inches tall by almost 7.75 inches deep by about 9 inches. It has not been wiped
cleaned or touched. There is a cut out to allow access to a electrical wall
box. There is some wear but it is charming and is more or less considered a
patina...The construction methods used are that of which someone planned on
handling some weight with it...the back is quarter inch heavy duty old ply
board...it probably dates from the 1920's or so. If you have any questions,
concerns or something to share feel free to message me. Free local and short
distance delivery however if you start talking hours and hours we should
probably talk about it. Please check out my other listings...

John
