This exceptional hand carved exceptionally translucent white nephrite jade archers ring was made during the 17th Century in China.
The band is carved with a dragon amidst a border of layered foliage, the intricate carving completed in two distinct levels. At the top and bottom of this beautiful carving are plain borders.
Translucent white nephrite jade is exceptionally valuable. At the time this ring was made, prior to jadeite being imported into China white nephrite was reserved for aristocracy. The jade here is exceptionally white and highly translucent. There are some subtle variations in translucency with delicate white clouds here and there but no differences in color to the fine white nephrite in this ring.  Of exceptional quality, it is rare to see nephrite jade this color and/or this translucency.
It is a size 12 3/4 US.
This wonderful antique jade ring sits approximately 1 1/8" wide and the band is 1/4" thick on average (28mm, 6mm).
It is in beautiful condition and is ready to gift or to wear.
