Japanese late Edo to early Meiji period sometsuke-seiji deep foliate form
porcelain dish decorated with an underglaze blue “shochikubai” (pine, prunus,
and bamboo) motif set against a white ground at the center surrounded by a
faint floral-patterned celadon border. Five spur marks in an “X” placement are
on the base. One spur mark is within the square blue mark on the base
obscuring firm identification. Very good overall condition. One minor
production imperfection is within the celadon border. 19th century. 11 1/2"
